The ability to express one’s self with no worries of being judged marks a great artist. In my mind, there are no fences, no division and no rights or wrongs. Everything could be put together into place with no absolute relations. I believe that the only thing that stops our imagination and creativity are ourselves. However, to me as an artist, the only particular problem that I have in my mind is the belief that there are no ugly colours, only ugly combinations.
Living in the mind of a child is the primary principle in designing my works. The spectrum of colours excites me, be it splashes of paints on the wall or the drops of bleach on that fabric. Colour is my strongest passion when forming a piece, portraying the colour in the best possible way in sets or costumes is a way to express my love for colours.
Designs for theatre, installation or parties is not just putting on clothes for people or making the place look nice. It is something deeper than that. Everything has their very own personality, by dressing up someone or a place, is giving the individual a character. Characters that everyone would believe exist despite the difference in time era, weather or sensibility.
Playing with space, form, colour and texture are the few ways in constructing an idea for my design. Theatre constantly challenges my conceptual ideas and the final design asking myself, “Is it accurate? Does it show? Did I succeed in telling the story fully?”
